Bayonne & Field Road

In 2016 Hammersmith and Fulham Volunteer Centre was chosen to deliver the Bayonne and Field Road Community Champions project.

The project aims to address and reduce health inequality, and promote healthy living and well-being by building on the skills, experience and knowledge within local community.

Local residents are recruited to become Community Champions. Champions benefit from the opportunity to undertake free accredited training in topics such as Understanding Health Improvement, Understanding Health Improvement and Mental Health First Aid, as well as the opportunity to develop skills and experience and have fun.

Community Champions play a vital role in supporting the project to deliver activities such as fitness classes, cookery classes, classes for new mums, and health fairs. They also connect local people with local healthcare services and much more.

If you live on the Bayonne or Field Road Estates or the immediate surrounding area and would like to get involved in transforming the health and well-being of your local community by volunteering as a Community Champion, get in touch as we would love to hear from you.
